Common questions

Pricing and Quotes

What does "$50 off your first service" cover?

It's taken straight off the invoice on your first booking with us, no matter what the job is. There's no minimum spend and nothing you need to remember to claim.

Is the quote really free?

Yes, every visit. We come out, look at the job properly and give you a number on the spot. You owe nothing whether you go ahead or not.

Do prices change once you start?

Not without talking to you first. If something unexpected turns up once a wall or ceiling is open, we stop, explain what we've found, and get your go-ahead on the new price before touching anything else.

How do I pay?

Card or bank transfer, whichever suits you. The full amount is confirmed on your written quote before we start, so payday holds no surprises.

Common questions

Licensed, Insured and Done Properly

What brands do you install?

Clipsal and Hager switchgear, SAL and Beacon Lighting fittings. It's gear built to still be working properly a decade from now, not the cheapest option on the shelf.

What is a safety switch (RCD) and do I need one?

A safety switch cuts the power in a fraction of a second if it senses current leaking somewhere it shouldn't. That's what stops a fault turning into a shock or a fire. Plenty of older Lilyfield homes were never fitted with one, and it's one of the fastest upgrades we do.

What is a Certificate of Compliance and do I get one?

It's the official record, lodged with NSW Fair Trading, confirming notifiable electrical work meets the required standard. Yes, you get one on any job that calls for it, no need to ask twice.

Are you licensed and insured?

We carry NSW Electrical Contractor Licence #452529C and Master Electricians Australia membership, backed by full insurance. Both the licence and the membership are easy to check yourself before you book.

Common questions

How Fast We Get to You

Do you work weekends?

Standard bookings run through the working week, and we can often find you a weekend slot too depending on the job. Genuine emergencies get a response any day, any hour.

How do I book?

Call (02) 9538 7139 and talk it through with an actual person, not a menu. Most jobs get a time locked in during that same call.

How soon can you fit me in?

Often same or next day, though it depends how the week is tracking when you call. We'd rather give you a straight answer than a promise we can't back up.

What happens after I call?

We talk through what's going on and lock in a time. On the day, we inspect the job, walk you through the price, and only start once you've said yes.

Common questions

Local Answers for Lilyfield

Why do Lilyfield's older homes need switchboard upgrades?

A lot of the pre-1940 cottages and terraces around here were never fully rewired as the suburb gentrified. Their switchboards still run on old ceramic fuses without RCD protection. It's a common upgrade for us, especially where a renovation has added new circuits without touching the board itself.

What suburbs do you service?

Lilyfield is home turf, and we're regularly working Rozelle, Leichhardt, Annandale and Balmain too. Anywhere nearby, give us a call and we'll tell you straight if it's on our run.

How local are you, really?

This patch of the Inner West is one we're in most weeks, not somewhere we visit once and forget. That means the crew already knows the older cottage wiring as well as the newer apartment builds going up around the Catherine Street stop, and the van's stocked accordingly.

Do you work on heritage/strata properties?

Regularly. A good share of Lilyfield's housing is heritage-influenced terraces and cottages near Callan Park, and we also handle the strata paperwork that comes with the newer apartment blocks close to the light rail.
